waiting for a call.....

It snowed last night...lots.
Bratfink's school is closed. The call came at 5.45 this morning...thanks for that.
We get a 2 hour window to get into work in bad snow and ice, so I am not hurrying out of bed this morning. I am hoping for the call to say we are closed, that would be great. I could spend all day in my warm house reading. I have a pile of books to read, but no time lately. Today could be the day.

  1. Don't know where you're at, but snow days are great sometimes, aren't they? I tened to do things I actually COULD do at another time, but snow days make them seem more appropriate. lol. Hugs.

  2. what snowfall closes down most places outside Alaska, they usually announce that school is still on..unless it was 3cm thick ice that had been polished by high wind and a lightsnowfall..then the buses run 2 hours late.

However generally Alaska doesn't close down due to snow..Volcanic eruptions being about the only thing I can remember from my school days.

  3. I'm a Floridian. We don't get snow days. Hurricanes days, but no snow days, cause well, we don't get snow.

  4. it's snowing where i live, too! which is unusual, so i plan to enjoy it while it's here, which probably won't be long. the last school year we had lots of snow days was when my oldest (he's 19) was in kindergarten, so it's been a while.

  6. No school here today! Isn't this lovely weather? C + M both stayed home too. I am just glad that they call with delays and closings now instead of having to get out of bed to go check.

  9. They close school or delay the start of school for like two inches of snow here. In my day, we had school in a foot of snow! We walked uphill both ways! I drove through blizzards to get to work!
